Today I made my first ever good and proper cappuccino – insert round of applause!
Making this cappuccino has been the highlight of my week.
It’s not much of a highlight I realise but I’ve been home all week, very sick, have not had much sleep & I seriously look like death warmed up.
But, this morning I felt I had enough energy to make a coffee to go with the pain au chocolate I sent my son to buy for me. I haven’t had a coffee since Monday which is a loooong time between coffees!
So I made myself a coffee; sure not a great achievement in the grand scheme of the world but it’s only my second time using my coffee machine. My husband is the barista in the family but he wasn’t here to make it for me, so if I wanted a coffee I had no choice but to make it myself.
I gotta say when I saw the milk spin in the jug my eyes lit up, and then when I poured that beautiful silked milk in the cup – you have no idea how much joy that gave me knowing I’d just made myself a good and proper cappuccino.
Sure, I made a mess of the chocolate (literally – I got more chocolate on the bench than on the coffee) and clearly there is an art to pouring which I’m yet to perfect, but the coffee was delicious!
My point in sharing this with you?
Well, be encouraged, when you’re not feeling great, when you’re having a rough day or week (hello, I’ve got both hands up) you can still find joy in little things!
In a week where I’ve struggled with sickness this humble cappuccino brought a smile to my face.
If you’re having a bad day or week, I hope & pray there is something that you can still find joy in!
Natt xx
